Whilst trying to get my FIS licence, I discovered on the Snowsport England website an article about my Midlands ski coach and I winning a rollerski team sprint race in London the other week!

SUMMERTIME!
I'm now, finally in my summer holidays from school, which makes training alot easier! So far this holiday I have competed in my 5th rollerski (4th GB rollerskis series) race of this year, and found a new great place to do my running and functional core sessions!
The race was at Hayes in London on the 14th July. It was a half an hour race for juniors and an hour for seniors. To challenge myself and for competition I decided to race in the womens 1hr race, It went really well!
I've also found a nearby Country Park which is perfect for running with poles and it has a childrens playground that i've been going to early in the morning and using for my functional core sessions- there's some really good stuff for doing balance and pull-ups on. Living where I do and training on your own, you get quite inventive with training!

1st U18, 2nd female |
I finished 2nd female (1st U18), it was really good race experience- the woman who came 1st is a world-cup Polish skier and really useful to watch. All together i completed around 17miles in the hour and my heart rate got to 194bpm!

The start of a more regular blog!
I've had a very busy time since my first few posts, but I think it's important now to keep track of what's going on! After my operation I got straight back into training- some people at the gym thought I was crazy when I turned up 2days later on crutches ready to work on upper body weight machines! But I recovered in no time and went on to..
• become British U18's xc ski champion (in 5km classic and sprint + 2nd place in 7.5km skate)
• Stayed and trained in Germany for a month
• Competed in XC ski races in Finland
• Became a Torchbearer for the 2012 London Olympic torch relay
• won 5 rollerski races in the UK (4 of which was in the u18 category if the GB rollerski series)
So I've been busy, And hopefully that will continue through the summer!
